A-5SC with Auto Controls and Dust Collection System

In May of 2006, Fred Weber Inc. purchased an A-5SC with Auto Controls from their local dealer Fabick CAT. Later that summer Fred Weber had Minnich install a Dust Collection System. With the A-5SC’s standard features, optional Auto Controls and the Minnich Dust Collection System, Minnich Manufacturing offers contractors a complete package.

The A-5SC offers many standard features. It is a self-propelled pneumatic unit that has the weight and strength to tow it’s own compressor. The unit has drill height, depth and center adjustment. The Minnich rail design is diamond shape to allow minimal dust accumulation and is capable of drilling 30” hole centers.

One of the greatest features – the crab steering has provided the contractor with a highly productive machine that out drills the competition. “The crab steering is great,” said Dean Kayser a mechanic for Fred Weber. “Between the Auto Controls and Crab Steering you drill a lot more holes a lot quicker,” continued Dean. With the crab steering and slab wheels, you can simply move to the next set of holes. There is no readjusting of the bed, pull up to next location with your drill bed down and you are ready to drill.

SIMPLICITY - With Minnich Auto Controls, you toggle one switch, allowing the drill unit to automatically turn on drills, feed them in the desired depth, retracts drills when they reach the desired depth and turn them off. Josh Grant, drill operator with 4 years experience, said “Nothing else drills like it.” Dean Kayser added, “It is the Cadillac compared to the rest!” Minnich Auto Controls not only enhances production but insures the drills are always turned off at the right time which translates into longer life of the drill itself!

The Minnich Dust Collection System, introduced several years ago, is just now being requested due to the increased awareness in safety, both for operator and surrounding traffic. With less dust in the air, your compressor filters run cleaner, longer. The operator stands in a dust free environment and passing traffic has greater visibility with fewer blind spots. This makes the job-site much more acceptable in the community, which reflects in a positive way on the contractor.
