Minnich Manufacturing

1968 – Minnich Manufacturing was born. Roger Minnich made the decision to step out on his own after spending time as VP of Sales at Maginniss High Cycle Vibrators. He and two employees began building hydraulic vibrators in a gas station with a detached, three-bay garage. At the shop on N. Main Street in Mansfield, Ohio, Roger began his journey to convert concrete paving machines from high-cycle vibrators to hydraulic vibrators. He provided a complete package that powered the entire system including vibrators/hydraulic pumps and Ford engines. Roger found a demand for this conversion and traveled the countryside in his white station wagon converting machines to the new system — a job that usually took about three days. In those years, he built relationships with and became known by many major paving contractors in the U.S.

Minnich’s three car garage expanded between the 1970’s and 1993 when the fifth and final addition was completed. At the request of a contractor, Minnich constructed its first dowel-pin drill in 1985. Jim Minnich, Roger’s son, entered the business in 1993, and by 1995 was the sole owner of Minnich Manufacturing.

Since Jim has taken ownership, Minnich has introduced the first vibrator monitoring system, the Auto Vibe, released its first remote controlled dowel pin drill, and the Hornet, a small, lightweight drilling machine used for drilling gas leak detection and extraction holes. Finally in 2011 Minnich moved to its present manufacturing facility which added 14,000 square feet and room for future expansion.

Minnich Manufacturing is grateful for the people who have been a part of this history and been a consistent factor throughout a multitude of changes.
